Your Roadmap to the First 50 Days
Welcome to the SHU family! This page serves as your central hub to staying informed and connected throughout your journey. Explore below to see how we'll be staying in touch, from direct communications to interactive sessions.
All specific details, including session links, will be distributed directly to your SHU email inbox/account. Be sure to check your SHU email regularly throughout the summer.
- Mid-June: Post-Orientation Welcome & Next Steps
- Once your Orientation wrap-up is complete, keep an eye on your inbox for an official follow-up email packed with your immediate next steps.
- We'll share all the critical dates you need to know, plus registration and access links for our upcoming July virtual sessions.
- Late June: Family Updates & Community Building
- We haven't forgotten about your support system! We'll be sending dedicated newsletters to parents and families to keep them in the loop, too.
- Depending on your specific college, you'll also get invites to join official group chats (like GroupMe) so you can start connecting with your future classmates.

- Mid-July: Personalized Academic Advising & Faculty Outreach

- July 14: Parents: attend “Self-Advocating for Students with SAS” to hear from the Student Advising & Success Office on how you can support your student and guide them to advocate for themselves during their first-year and beyond.
- Late-July: Live Virtual Q&A and Information Sessions
- July 21
- Your college will be hosting live, virtual Q&A sessions and webinars via Zoom. These interactive sessions offer a great opportunity to connect with faculty and staff to ask any questions you have before arriving on campus.
- Don't miss our dedicated Transfer Information Session! This meeting will be an opportunity to meet our staff and learn more about the services and supports that are offered to all students at SHU.
- July 22
- Our Pre-Health Q&A session will provide incoming students with an overview of the Pre-Health pathway at SHU, including advising support, experiential opportunities, and common first-year questions. Students will also have the opportunity to ask 1:1 questions with Pre-Health Peer Mentors and gain a clearer understanding of what to expect during the first semester and beyond.
- July 21
- August: Final Preparations & Welcome Week Readiness
